Prayers for Paris
Blogged By: Jessica

On Friday November 13th 2015, Paris was faced with numerous terrorist attacks that left people living in fear and shock while grieving the loss of loved ones. Some important things to know from these attacks are:
  • There was a total of 129 people declared dead
  • 352 people were reported wounded, 99 of those injured are in critical condition
  • 89 of those who were killed came from one venue, a concert for the Eagles of Death Metal at the Bataclan theatre
  • Fans were forced to evacuate the national stadium where their soccer team was taking on their arch rival Germany when they heard bombs detonate in nearby restaurants
  • Terrorist group ISIS has claimed responsibility
  • The French government has declared a state of emergency

People all around the world have been supporting those in Paris in many different ways. On the night of the 13th, many different major cities throughout the world lit up their most famous attractions in the colours of the French flag, facebook has added a temporary profile picture option where people can add the colour of the French flag on top of their profile picture for a few days to show support for those in need, and Jean Jullien has created a “Peace for Paris” Illustration that has been trending as people show their support for Paris.

  1. HI there Jessica, I am a student in simcoe county and my teacher gave us thegreentimberwolf to read. I looked at some other blog posts form your peers, but this one popped out at me. It popped out at me because of the pictures were very vibrant and they were perfectly placed! The way you worded it was like you said it right of the news and I like the way news people speak. This blog had a lot of detail and it was very explained. Just one question, What does critical condition mean? That is all, thank you for your time. -Dylan

  2. Hello The Green Timberwolf,
That was a great post. I knew about the attack, but I didn't know a lot of details like the soccer game and how many people were injured. Thanks for the information. If you want to check out my blog you can go to: tayl4671.blogspot.ca.
