Poverty-Food Bank Crisis
Blogged by: Sydney, Megan & Emma
Our class is located in Angus, Ontario. As a small community with little support from the government, some families in our town require support from our local foodbank. During the holidays the stock of food can become low and not support the people who need it.
As a group we decided that we should hold a food drive closer to the Christmas holiday to help replenish the food bank and help out around our community.
As of Wednesday November 9th, the food bank in Angus was stocked enough for people to use and get the food they need. At some points we’re not lucky enough to have stocked shelves so it sets back our community. Every 10 seconds, a child dies from hunger related diseases. If everyone made a donation to the food banks we could decrease this statistic tremendously. A simple donation can change the world.
