Let's Get Started
Blogged by: Sam, Mackenzie, Vanessa and Tristin.
In our world issues class we were introduced to the United Nations 17 Global Goals. These 17 global goals were made in hopes to bring countries and citizens together to create a more sustainable world. The United Nations first introduced the global goals in 2015 and hopes to tackle these goals to improve the lives of people everywhere by the year of 2030.
So What Are We Doing?
Our world issues class has come together in groups and chosen 7 of the global goals to bring to life. My group has chosen global goal 15: Life on Land. Over the course of this semester our group will be working to educate other people in our local community and globally on topics of biodiversity loss, desertification, deforestation, and land degradation. Together we have named our group the “Tree Musketeers” and have been working together to think of ways that we can take action in our local community and what we can do on a global level.
We are excited to pursue this global goal and hope to raise awareness together!
