Our local goals we will be tackling is that we will be going to elementary schools and giving presentations and seminars to the students and teachers. We hope that by visiting the older kids at the elementary school, they will be the big influence for the younger. We also hope to persuade the elementary school teachers to ban the use of plastic water bottles in the classrooms.
The banning of water bottles also follow into we are trying to make Nottawasaga Pines a plastic water bottle free school. If the bottles get banned, hopefully other neighbouring schools will see and follow too.
Our last local goal to achieve is to have a successful run at a home school festival buy-out for students. It will cost $2 for students to buy-out and miss 1 period to either watch homemade documentaries made by other fellow groups tackling goals (which we will also be taking part in) and making booths for students to go by and collect information about our goals.
Global goals that we have planned is to raise money from the festival, bake sales, selling we-products, and we-fundraising to buy rain barrels to donate to third world countries and countries in need (such as indigenous reserves etc.). Another global goal is to also contact a Scottland school that’s working as the same project as we are with clean water sanitation. We hope to exchange information together and conquer together to achieve Clean water and Sanitation (or at least make a difference).
