Poverty:
Geography class takes on global goals

As part of our world issues class, we split into small groups to focus on different global goals. Our global goal is goal #1, poverty. As a group we’ve decided to hold a food drive, clothing/toy drive as well as sell shirts. As a class we’re potentially holding a global goals fair that will have documentaries showing in the cafe, while other groups are advertising their groups issues and what they plan on doing. During the fair our group will have a slideshow playing with information and facts, selling our shirts and snacks for the documentaries, as well as raising money for the issue. The main purpose our group would like to do is raise awareness of the severity of poverty, it is very likely that you have in some form heard or seen the effects of living in poverty but many people are not aware of how much of an impact it has.
