E-Waste Collection comes to NPSS!
Blogged by: Jason, Austin and Tyler A.

Our group is trying to help our environment, by collecting and spreading awareness about e-waste. We are finalizing our posters and are making a box to place outside of our school to collect the e-waste. We don't have a certain date yet, however we are thinking in the next couple of weeks. If you have any ideas or any questions, please leave a comment. Thanks !!

Here's a sample of a poster we've designed.

  1. E-Waste collection is a great idea. Especially since we know our local landfill is running out of space and we need to divert!

  3. Cool idea, I remember watching a movie about the poor ways e-waste is often dealt with in grade 10. where does the e-waste go after you collect it? Is it being sent to a facility that can deal with it in a safe and environmentally friendly way?

  4. This is a great idea because most people are not aware of how to properly recycle these items. How long will you be running this for? Where will these items be going after they are collected?

  6. @Abie and Jenn We have a company picking up the e-waste for us, it is called Iron Men, they pick up e-waste for free. They give the e-waste to proper recycling plants around Barrie to help reduce fill up in landfills. We will be running this from Thursday November 27- Sunday November 30. You can find out more about Iron Men at their website http://www.ironmenbarrie.com/ or even call (705)790-9694.
