Trump Supporting the Hunt of Endangered Animals?
Blogged by Kennedy, Aimee, Rebecca, Jared

Earlier in the week Trump’s administration made a decision to remove the restrictions on importing African elephant trophies from Zimbabwe and Zambia. These restrictions were created by Obama administration in 2014 because of the decrease in elephant population. These animals were listed in the Endangered Species Act, Which requires the U.S government to protect endangered species in other countries. We can’t control what happens in other countries, but we can control the imports of the parts of these animals.
After the uproar Trump now says he has decided to put the decision about big-game hunting on hold until all conservation facts have been reviewed.
Wayne Pacelle, CEO of the U.S Humane Society said “ Greatful to Trump for reassessing elephant and lion trophy hunting imports. This is the kind of trade we don’t need.”
The decision to lift the ban on big-game trophy hunting would be extremely hurtful to the already endangered elephant population, and go completely against our goal to protect life on land.
