Gender Equality Within Schools

A lot of people are majorly affected by the equality they feel while at school. Whether it be with clubs or sports teams a lot of times your gender is a major topic. Schools are very gender influenced when it comes to sports whether it be the girls volleyball team or the and boys basketball team. We believe that their should be other options. We think that these create barriers between us. There should be a lot more co-ed options within our school systems.
Although there are different gendered sports teams they are very competitive with each other. In most cases what gender is better at a specific sport.
Some clubs and sport teams think it is important to have male leaders and coaches because society pushes the idea that they are better leaders and make better decisions and they have a better chance of being successful. This is not correct as every women is just as capable of being a leader.
It is thought by many and our group specifically that when people think of gender equality they think of rising women above men and that is not the case at all. We want to make both genders equal. We want both genders to be seen just as strong and just as powerful then the other. All human being are important and we are all capable of achieving great things.
