Let's end world hunger
Blog by: Mickayla, Molly, Dylan, and Mady

Did you know that approximately 9 million people die of world hunger each year according to world hunger statistics; more than the death toll malaria, AIDS and tuberculosis combined in 2012 of whom were approximately 3.1 million children. That means the population of toronto 4 a a half times. To think that is such a high number can be shocking, but I think it only shocks us because we guard ourselves and your parents shield us from the fact that there are more people starving to death than live in your city. It is important for us to know what is going on because if we don’t than it will continue to get worse and it will never get better. As a society it is our job to not have to protect our children from the bad things in life because there should be nothing to hide them from.

How about this did you know that Over 75 percent of the world’s poorest grow their own food. This causes widespread food insecurity in developing countries, as drought, climate change and natural disasters can easily cut off a family’s food supply. This means that the second a tropical storm or a tsunami or any other natural disaster happens an entire family is cut off of food until they can grow more. This will leave millions of people without for extended periods of time.
