In Kunduz, Afghanistan, a hospital called Medecins San Frontieres (MSF),  that has been running by Doctors Without Borders was struck by UN air forces after allegedly being used by armed terrorist to target afghan forces and civilians.

What you need to know about this air strike is:
  • Hospital was being hit repeatedly by bombs
  • No hospital members reported any terrorist inside the building prior to air strike
  • Staff members repeatedly called US and Afghan military to call of air strike

“Those people that could, had moved quickly to the building’s two bunkers to seek safety. But patients who were unable to escape burned to death as they lay in their beds.” - Heman Nagarathnam

Heman Nagarathnam is an Kuduz doctor who was in the an office in hospital the time of the bombing. Once he escaped from the office Nagarathnam was found  the whole main hospital floor immersed in flames. In the MSF statement Nagarathnam said  “There was a pause, and then more bombs hit. This happened again and again….” Imagine being in a building where bombs are being repeatedly dropped.

Due to the hospital being “Mistakenly struck”(stated by US military chief in Afghanistan) the lives of twelve staff member, seven intensive care patients, and three children have been lost.  Thirty seven people were injured. Nineteen of those people were staff members, eighteen patients and caretakers, and from those injured five staff members were in critical conditions.

The big question is will the US forces mistakenly strike again?
