From Poverty to Power
Blogged By; Emma, Britt, Rebecca, Rosalyn
In September 2015,  World Leaders made commitments to 17 Global Goals, aiming to achieve 3 phenomenal things in the next 15 years. End extreme poverty, fight inequality & injustice and fix climate change.  For many, it can be hard to imagine a world where this is a reality, however The Global Goals for sustainable development could get these things done, with the help of the world’s population. THIS MEANS YOU, THIS ALSO MEANS US!!!

We decided to take some action regarding Goal #1; End Poverty In All Its Forms, Everywhere.  Criteria for this sustainable goal includes;

-By 2030, eradicate extreme poverty for all people everywhere, currently measured as people living on less than $1.25 a day
- By 2030, reduce at least by half the proportion of men, women and children of all ages living in poverty in all its dimensions according to national definitions.

Above, is a graph chart showing each circle as a country, and the percentage of those living on less than $1.25 a day.
So far, our group has made exceptional progress in the planning stages of our project. Our goal is to raise awareness and educate others on the effects of poverty on a local and global scale. We would really love to help people living in poverty in our own community and other places around the world. Follow our progress on The Green TImberwolf or search the hashtag #npssGlobalGoals or our own hashtag; #Poverty2Power !
We are excited to make a difference, and support  the UN as they continue to work towards a Poverty Free World!!!!
