Global Goal #2
Our Local Goal
Blogged by: Vinny, Chantel, and Rachel
The last couple of days our group has discussed what we want to do to help end hunger in our community. As a group we have decided that to assist locally, we would like to collect 1000 non-perishable food items for the Barrie Food Bank.

The decision to collect non-perishable food items for the Barrie Food Bank was made upon learning that almost half of Canadian citizens who go to food banks live in Ontario. We also discovered that 38% of food banks said they did not have enough food to feed their clients. This fact was extremely shocking to us. We believe that those food banks could of potentially had enough food to feed their clients just by a few donations from their community. In collecting and donating non-perishable food items to local food banks, we as a group hope to strive towards a common goal to keep hunger out of our community.
